A nail salon owner in northern Mexico has died after falling unconscious in his salon and sleeping for days, a police officer said.
Carlos Manuel Flores, 42, was found dead in his home in La Plata state on Monday, according to the La Platan state police office.
His wife, Maria Flores, told local media the couple had been struggling with illness and decided to quit the business to take care of their children.
Local authorities in La Guajara state said Flores’ body had been found.
“He was a very kind person and always took care of people,” Manuel Flores’ wife, Carmen Flores, said in a radio interview on Wednesday.
Her husband, a former soldier in the army, had also worked as a security guard in Mexico City.
The couple had two daughters, ages 10 and 11.
Local media reported that the couple was planning to sell the salon after their children finished high school.
“The family is looking for any help that they can get to help them find a new place,” the family said in the statement.
