SANTA CLARA, Calif.
— Maria’s Beauty Salon closed in March after 50 decades of serving the local community.
Its former owners said in a statement the owners of the shop, which opened in 1956, would be greatly missed.
“We wish to thank all of the customers who have been so loyal to Maria’s,” said the owners, John and Sylvia Paz, in a release.
Maria and her husband, Fred Paz were longtime friends of the Paz family, and they started the salon as a way to get away from the daily grind of living on their own.
The Pazs were also the owners and operators of the Marina Beach Marina Resort, a resort owned by the Pachas.
Sylvia Paz and Fred Pafci say they are thankful for the customers.
Paz said in the statement that they have known Maria for over 50 years.
We’re sad to say that Maria will be sorely missed, said Paz.
There will always be a place in our hearts for our friends and the people we have known for so long.
It’s been an honor and privilege to work with the Pacheas, said Fred Pabci.
After nearly 50 years, Maria’s Beauty was shuttered.
Her father, Fred, said the shop will be forever missed.
